Booster Stations

Dredging Booster station is a booster pump that is added along the discharge pipe of a Cutter Suction Dredger, in order to be able transfer the production over longer distances. A booster station could be either on land or over the sea on a floating steel foundation. Depending on the distance between the production storage area and the Cutter Suction Dredger at operation, one or more booster stations could be added. A booster station can increase pumping distance as much as twice as the dredge pump of a Cutter Suction Dredger does. The increase in the production level of Cutter Suction Dredgers however depends on the distance, kind of material as well as power of the booster pumps. While obtaining a booster station in addition to the stndard Cutter Suction Dredger pump, it is crucial to choose the optimal engine and pump configuration. It is arguably better to purchase a booster pump same size, make and model as the Cutter Suction Dredger pump due to convenience and adaptability.
